Green Energy School Environmental education to learn correct energy consumption habits to solve climate change problems

‘Green Energy School,’ which is a fusion of subjects (environment + science) that follows the developmental stage of elementary school students, helps students form holistic and three-dimensional concepts about energy and the will to practice it through creative experiential activities such as games, operation, and exploration. Because it provides systematic and in-depth energy education that cannot be covered in the current curriculum, supplementary and in-depth learning outside of existing class content is possible. Learning energy-related activities motivates participants to be mindful of energy and the environment at home and in their daily life through waste separation, self-life checklist, etc.

In 2021, the project established an online education progress manual by converting the content of ‘Threatening Earth’ board game, an offline teaching tool, to non-face-to-face online classes in response to COVID-19. In this way, more children benefitted from education, and an expansion of the project coverage became possible.

The above training was designated as an ‘Excellent Environmental Education Program’ by the Ministry of Environment in 2020. (Designation number: 2020-166)

* The Ministry of Environment’s ‘Excellent Environmental Education Program Designation System’ is a national designation system that the Minister of Environment supervises after examining the eco-friendliness, excellence, and safety of the program in accordance with Article 13 of the Environmental Education Promotion Act.
