The Peace & Green Boat successfully completed its ninth voyage from July 30 to August 7. About 1,100 people ? 550 each from Korea and Japan ? took part in the nine-day tour of Korea’s Busan, China’s Shanghai and Japan’s Okinawa, Nagasaki and Fukuoka. This year’s theme was “Respond 2030: New History of the Three Nations in an Era of Climate Change ? Searching for Asia’s Tomorrow.”
Their voyage on the 35,000-ton cruise vessel started with a departure ceremony in Busan at 6:30 p.m. on July 30. A variety of educational and cultural programs followed, including the 2030 Eco Forum that was held onboard on its way to Shanghai on July 31. Korean and Japanese panelists including Korea Green Foundation President Choi Yul engaged in an active discussion on how to cope with various challenges faced by the Asian powers.
The Foundation is keenly listening to diverse opinions and feedback from citizens to make the 10th Peace & Green Boat journey next year more meaningful and enjoyable. |
